Google Maps API for Work

Google Maps API is a collection of APIs that enable you to overlay your own data on a customized Google Map. You can create engaging web and mobile applications with Google's powerful mapping platform including satellite imagery, street view, elevation profiles, driving directions, styled maps, demographics, analytics and an extensive places database. With the world's most accurate global coverage and an active mapping community making daily updates, your users will benefit from a continually improving service.

Familiar and Easy

Google Maps is the most widely used online mapping service in the world, with more than 800,000 sites using the Google Maps API and over 250 million active users on mobile devices alone. With the Google Maps API, you can provide this same familiar experience to your own users.

World class imagery

The global catalog of high resolution aerial imagery offered by Google Earth is also available in the Google Maps API. The Google Maps API includes access to 45 degree imagery in over 120 cities worldwide, so your users can explore your data with a unique perspective within a particular area.

Mobile first

Smartphones have revolutionized the way that we consume and share information, and catering for a mobile user base is more important than ever. With the Google Maps API you can build location based applications that can be used via a web browser, mobile devices, or custom built applications.

Advanced analytics

The Google Maps API for Work offers an analytics tool that enables you to see how visitors interact with your maps. For example you can see how many visitors switch to satellite view, the level they zoom to, and which features of the map are most commonly used. This allows you to customize the user experience based on their preferences and encourage a higher degree of engagement and interactivity.

Routing and Directions

The Google Maps API delivers the full power of Google's routing engine to your applications. You can generate routes between up to 23 locations for driving, walking, or cycling. Routes can avoid toll roads or highways, and travel time can be reduced by calculating the optimal order to visit each location. Travel time and distance between locations can also be calculated, for example if you want to offer users a way to filter search results by drive time.

Data Visualization

The Google Maps API lets you visualize data using heat maps, symbols and custom styles. For United States maps, you have access to a demographics layer containing recent census information provided by Nielsen, as well as 5-year projections of many data fields. The demographics layer is only available to Google Maps API for Work customers, and may only be used on internal websites / intranets.

Google Maps Coordinate

Google Maps Coordinate is a workforce management tool that improves the efficiency of your mobile teams. People are shown on a Google Map, making it easy to assign jobs to the nearest available team member. By getting real-time visibility into where teams are and what jobs they are doing, work can be scheduled in a smarter, more efficient way.

Scale on demand

Using Google Maps Coordinate is as easy as using Google Maps. Your workforce will be up and running in no time with minimal training required.

Real time visibility

Your central dispatch team can instantly see all workers on a map, making it easy to select the best worker for each job.

No special hardware required

Google Maps Coordinate runs on GPS-equipped Android and Apple smart phones, so field-based workers always have the latest jobs at their fingertips.

Real-Time Visibility

All team members can be seen on a Google Map. By assigning jobs to the nearest worker, more tasks can be completed in a shorter amount of time and workers are color-coded so its obvious who is available. Administrators can dispatch jobs with the confidence that an individual's location is correct, even if they are indoors since Google Maps Coordinate integrates Google Indoor Maps.

Job Management

Workers can see a list of their jobs, and check in to show that they have started. This reduces miscommunication between the worker and dispatcher. Workers are able to minimize down time between tasks and complete a higher number of jobs per day.

Data Capture

Using their mobile device, workers can view detailed information about the job, as well as add their own notes which are immediately stored in the cloud. This eliminates paper-based workflows, duplication of work and saves teams from losing information.

Custom Locations

A custom location enables you to name locations on a map such as customer sites, the location of facilities, or areas to avoid. It enables the dispatcher to pinpoint the exact location of the job and saves time when the location is used again since the name is saved and autocompletes.

Job and Location History

The location history of each worker can be shown, which helps to make more informed decisions about how teams operate and improve the efficiency of the mobile workforce. Do more workers need to be hired? Is there a better location for the team?
